Great Opportunity for 4-H member who does not own a horse or horse property: (Leasing)
Two Paso Fino horses available for beginner 4-H Club members, Alegro a bay gelding and Porcelana, a grey mare. At owner's home on Ina Road, 3 miles west of freeway in northwest Tucson. Owner is applying to become 4-H horse volunteer and must be present with horses. Owner has lighted round pen and small arena with access to miles of trail riding in Saguaro National Park. Seeking 4-H Club members 11 years or older who can be dropped off/picked up 1-2 weekday evenings to practice groundwork and riding, and trail ride on weekends. Owner may be available to trailer horse to 4-H shows and for riding lessons with horse trainer in Benson. Owner enjoys sharing her horse knowledge with kids. 4-Her can help with horse/barn chores and if possible, help cover cost of feed, farrier and vet for horse. Dodge is a 6 year old dun tobiano APHA registered mare. Stands 15.3hh and just shy of 1200# with nice thick bone. Absolutely perfect ground manners, ties, trailers, shoes, bathes, ect. like a dream. Lunges and round pens perfectly anywhere you take her. Walks, jogs, trots and lopes very well, has been training for english and western pleasure and is ready to show at the walk, jog and trot. Her lope is still a bit fast for the show ring and she needs consistent work to maintain her headset at that gait. She neck reins of course, gives well to leg pressure and has quick transitions and does simple lead changes. Side passes and pivots on the hind and fore. Works in a french snaffle with a roller in english and a Tom thumb in western, very soft and sensitive mouth. Trails well with a good pace and respects the horse in front of her. She's hesitant when going out alone but just needs occasional encouragement. Sound and healthy. Has a slight roar when working hard but it does not affect her performance in any way, my vet said not to worry about it. Super smart and has a great work ethic. Needs an experienced rider because she's only 6 and she's very sensitive to cues. A novice with a good trainer or an intermediate rider would be just fine with her. Very strong and gorgeous mare! She has a video on YouTube, just search for "Dodge APHA" and she's the first to pop up.

I live in Sahuarita and I am looking for a beginner rider to lease my daughter’s retired horse. He is 25 years old with a lot of life left in him. There is nothing wrong with him; he is not lame at all, a little arthritis but nothing too bad he just can’t keep up with her level. He needs a beginning rider to take care of. He has done some western pleasure, gymkhana, and ranch sorting, since we have had him. Before that he was a roping horse so he would be great at anything you need him to do. He is awesome with cows and could help a beginner learn the ropes. I want to keep him here on my property there is lots of room to ride and he can be hauled for day use if you want. I’m willing to haul him to any shows/practices that we attend. I don’t really want any money (maybe help with shoes) I just want to keep him active. FOR SALE: Bella. 14 hand 6 yo registered AQHA mare. Does all of the basics (loads, bathes, clips, picks up leads, stops hard, does well in crowds,). No buck, kick or bite. Bella is a little quirky on the ground and is not for a beginner. She would be excellent for an experienced youth. Smart, sound, quick and cowy. Will be ridden at NAHA in July (Flagstaff gymkhana). $2500.00. Price will go up as she gets hauled and finished.

Alexandra Tuggle has two horses to lease. She is

now a junior at the U of A and has little time to spend

with her horses. Alexandra was a 7 year member of

Silver Spurs 4-H Club and has now started a pilot 4-H

program at the University of Arizona. Pictures are attached

of both horses:

Partizan BA (Parti) is a Polish Arabian Western
Pleasure horse who has shinned in halter (Santa
Barbara Halter Champion) and in Showmanship
(3rd in the Nation). He is a smooth Western Pleasure
horse who also loves horsemanship, Top 5 at Regionals.
Parti is a bay gelding and stands 15'1.
Boiling Poiint (Fyre) is also a Polish Arabian horse who
shines in Hunter Pleasure (4-H English). He has taken
many grand championships but also excells at Show Hack.
Because of Fyre's show hack (10 gaites), he also looks
beautiful and really enjoys the sidesaddle competitions.
He helped Alexandra obtain her qualifying equitation
medal for Youth Nationals. Fyre loves to do Arabian
Costume at the Arab Shows. He is a sorrel with a
flaxen mane and tail and stands 15'3.

Both horses are located at Ken Johnson's barn which
is a co-op barn with an arena and riding trails, just off
of La Cholla, south of Lambert, north of Overton.
